Jeremy Lingvall, The Agency
I'm a lifelong Southern Californian with a deep love for the ocean and the rich architectural history of this state. I studied Law at UC Santa Barbara, but real estate is where I found my calling — specifically, helping first-time buyers navigate one of the most competitive housing markets in the country and actually enjoy the process.
Whether it's breaking down the real monthly cost of a home (not just the sticker price), explaining why that "charming fixer" might cost you $80K in renovations, or helping you write an offer that actually wins — my goal is to make sure you walk into homeownership with your eyes wide open and your finances intact.
After years of working with first-time buyers across LA, I kept hearing the same questions: "How much do I actually need saved? What neighborhoods can I afford? What does the monthly payment really look like?" The information was out there, but it was scattered everywhere — and almost none of it was specific to LA, where the market works differently than anywhere else in the country.
I built 1stHomeLA to bring everything into one place. Curated listings, real cost breakdowns, neighborhood guides, and the LA-specific context that generic national sites just can't give you. This city has its own rules — from property tax quirks to ADU potential to which hillside streets are actually drivable in the rain — and I wanted first-time buyers to have all of that in one spot, updated every week.
